Game Highlights:
After Henrik Lundqvist's arduous testing on the 4-3 win over the Capitals, Steve Valiquette started against the Ducks as we predicted. Although Anaheim did not have that Tortorella feel to their play that we have come to expect from the Rangers, they did have some nice opportunities and Valiquette answered the call flawlessly.
Sean Avery made his season debut and long-awaited return. He drew a few penalties, a few hard hits, and a few cheers from the crowd - also notching an assist.
In fact, his assist [on Anisimov's first career goal] was my favorite moment of the game - as Avery absorbed a monstrous body check from Scott Niedermeyer behind the Ducks' goal to make the pass, only to be seen laughing in the face of the Anaheim captain seconds later.
