New York Rangers '09-10 Roster and Contracts

Rangers Contracts of '09-10:

Rangers Depth Chart of '09-10:

The Rangers are in a near-identical cap situation they were in last year and for years to come, but have a lot of new faces and high expectations. Sean Avery is sidelined, to start the season, so expect to see 2008 OHL Rookie of the Year Evgeny Grachev to extend his stay with the big-timers with opportunistic fortune.

Speaking of Grachev, him and the other two rookies - Michael Del Zotto and Matt Gilroy - are proven athletes already just from their mere presence and acknowledgment by John Tortorella. Remember, these guys already went through to two aerobic skating-intense training camps since as early as late June. Matt Gilroy dazzled us right away..

Alexei Semenov's posted contract is a guestimated $800,000 1/yr deal. I doubt they will offer him anything more at this stage in free agency, plus he is looking for work according to his facebook:

7/26/09: "Somebody please sign me!"
9/3/09: "Well well well. Where's my job?"

Semenov and Del Zotto's presence also imply that Sanguinetti does not make the opening squad. He may get called up if Del Zotto is returned to London Nights by his 9-game age-restricted deadline (else he is an NHLer for good!). Only time will tell.

**
Updated: Alexei Semenov tearfully backed off from the Rangers contract to sign a 2 year, 1.5 mil deal with a KHL team.
